Thermal Parks

The Island of Ischia has one of the most ancient hydrothermal legacies in the world, with 69 groups of fumaroles and 29 groups of thermal springs that give rise to 103 springs spread over the 42 sq. km or so of the island territory

Each of the springs has its own particular features and properties that can be categorized in HOT, VERY HOT, THERMAL and HYPERTHERMAL (40°C and up) MINERALS (2.5 to 30 grams/litre of salt). These are divided into sodium-chloride (77 springs) or bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline (20 springs in Casamicciola and Barano). The former are classified as follows: salty-sulphate-alkaline (Casamicciola), salty-sulphate-ferrous (Forio) and salty-iodic, whereas the latter consist in bicarbonate-sulphate and bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline-earth waters. The chloride-sodic waters of Nitrodi are particularly effective against skin diseases. Treatments are provided for the following pathologies:
