The Beaches

There are countless beaches in Ischia, most of them sandy

In Ischia Portoyou’ll find the beach of S. Pietro, the Lido, Cartaromana, spiaggia degli Inglesi(English Beach) and spiaggia dei Pescatori(Fishermen’s Beach).

Casamicciola hosts the beaches of Bagnitielli, Convento and Suor Angela.

In Lacco Ameno lies the famous beach of San Montano with the Negombo Thermal Park,spiaggia delle Monache(Nuns’ beach) and spiaggia del Fungo (Mushroom beach).

Forio includes the beaches of San Francesco, Chiaia, Cava dell’isola and Citara with its famous Poseidon Gardens

Sant’Angelohosts the beaches of Cava Grado and Fumarole

In Barano you’ll find the wonderful Maronti beach, which is also the longest, stretching for about 3 km.

These are only a few of the most important beaches, but the island is full of warm water inlets, such as the one in Sorgeto, or small sandy shores where it is possible to have a quiet swim. Beach umbrella and deckchair hire is available in almost all the beaches, but there are also many stretches where access to the beach is free. Most beaches can be reached by public transport.
